Introduction

Regional Passport Office, Chandigarh came into existence in the month of September 1969. Since then Regional Passport Office, Chandigarh has been catering to ever increasing demand of passports of three states viz., 14 districts of Punjab State, 12 districts of Haryana State and Union territory of Chandigarh.

Now new passport office has been opened at shimla in March,2007 and all the passport applications of Himachal Pradesh are being accepted at Passport Office Shimla.

Regional Passport Office, Chandigarh was computerized by NATIONAL INFORMATICS CENTRE (Ministry of Information Technology) in the month of January, 1996.
